Baked Bananas

Overripe bananas have many uses: breads, faux icecream, cookies, granola bars but we are going to start with something a little more simple:

Preheat oven while slicing your bananas down the middle (as if you were making a banana split) on your pan. Pour liquor and juice evenly over sliced bananas. Top with brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake and Enjoy

Ingredients:

4 bananas

2 shots of bourbon or spiced rum

3 pinches of cinnamon

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

2 tablespoons of a citrus juice (I typically use lemon juice)

Preheat: 375F Bake Time: 8 minutes

Serve with Bourbon Pecan Praline ice cream or enjoy on its own!

To blog or not?

I have been hesitant to write a food blog for a long time. I feel that food blogs are more often than not overdone or mundane. Characteristics only admired by Jonah Hill in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. A simple blend of recipes is not worth writing about. I hope to share with you what I have learned about eating healthfully on a college student budget. I love food and believe that there are few better pleasures than creating a meal and sharing it with people you love dearly. Although we may not be at the same table I hope I can teach you new dishes that you can share with your loved ones. Thank you for reading!
